Bestia

(2017)
"Bestia" explores the inner beast in humans and its relevance between energy and nature. Beast energy happens in our natural world, allowing us an opportunity to investigate its power from a primal context. We recognize the flow of its energy, but most of the time it is restricted and contained under a set of orders that maintains a civilized community.

Our collaborative dialogue emerges from contemporary dance and percussion sounds, framed in a seasonal context: summer, fall, winter and spring. Each season is a standalone piece so the beast's appearance is changing and manifesting itself in various ways.

From our research, these questions have arisen: what does the inner beast look like? How does it manifest?
