MARCIAL
(2018-pte)Marcial is a project that exists within the potentialities of inhabiting Mars in different ways, and not from the achievement of that potentiality. It proposes to train for an impossibility (and also for the future of an Earth in crisis).
Mars operates as a place where we could go - even if we never do - and pushes us to find out and prepare other ways of living. Mars becomes a contradictory power: it is a hostile scenario for human life, a test of the future in the present, and also a warning for taking care of the Earth.
Marcial commits to low-cost, feminist and latin-american science fiction and to the reappropriation of martial techniques to subvert the paradigm of colonial patriarchy, allowing different stories to appear against the hegemonic ones installed by NASA, Elon Musk, the USSR, etc.
This project has been developed in several years and operates as a collaborative process. It does not follow a linear temporality and always exists in latent mode.
